A Journey Worth A Thousand Walks

A Journey Worth A Thousand Walks
Mr. Wilmont with Enota StudentsCrossing Guard Appreciation Week was celebrated November 16 - 20. Did you know that Mr. Jacob Wilmont has been serving as a crossing guard for 45 years, and that he is 86 years old! He serves the students and families at Enota MI Academy and Gainesville Middle School in all types of weather. He ensures that our students are safe during morning drop off and afternoon pick-up. In 2016, he was honored with the naming of the crosswalk at Enota as "Jacob Wilmont Crosswalk". An inspiration to generations of Gainesville students, Mr. Wilmont worked for Gainesville Parks and Recreation for several years and supervised parking at Bobby Gruhn Field for many GHS football games. To show their appreciation, Enota students presented Mr. Wilmont with a package full of thank-you notes and cards. We are thankful for Mr. Wilmont, and we appreciate his many years of service to our students and our community!
